I tell stories

Some through cameras. Some through words. Some standing in a room with a Bible open in front of me. I’m Gavin Fuller. I’m a filmmaker, writer and pastor.

For more than two decades, I’ve worked across film, television and commercial production, helping people and organisations find the story underneath what they’re trying to say.

But storytelling has never been the only thread running through my life. I studied ministry, became a pastor, raised a family, preached, taught, wrote, travelled, made films and spent a lot of years trying to understand what it actually means to walk with God when life doesn’t unfold the way you expected. Those worlds might look separate from the outside. They’ve never felt particularly separate to me.

Whether I’m behind a camera, writing at five in the morning, sitting across a table from someone who is struggling, or preaching to a room full of people, I find myself doing much the same thing: looking beneath the surface.

I’m interested in people. In what makes us who we are. In the stories we tell about ourselves. The things we hide. The things we’re afraid to admit. The moments that expose us. And the strange, beautiful ways God can use brokenness to uncover something true, raw and honest.
